About Me
Experience has taught me that students will meet the bar that you set for them. Raise the bar high and give them the support and structure they need and they will reach it.

I have a true love of both teaching and learning. Not much beats the feeling of seeing a student have that moment when things finally "click"! Patience and good communication skills with each individual student are key. Equally important is the willingness and ability to adapt methods of explaining a topic until you find one that is right for the individual student. I enjoy working with students one on one to build their confidence and help them achieve their highest potential.

I am a summa cum laude graduate holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Mathematics. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA while taking overload courses and raising two children to very successful adulthood - so my study skills, work ethic, and organizational skills are also very strong. I hold a quadruple level II teaching certification in Middle School and High School Mathematics, Middle School Science, and High School Biology.

I worked as a full time teacher at the high school level for ten years teaching several different math courses. I have also worked as an adjunct math instructor at a local college. Additionally, I have worked with students studying a wide variety of subjects through home school and cyber school programs and am very comfortable adapting to an individual home school student's needs and abilities, as well as working with a wide variety of cyber school systems / home school curricula.

I specialize in Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, and Trigonometry. However, I have a broad knowledge base in math and science disciplines in general and have successfully tutored a wide variety of subjects and grade levels. I have also had extensive experience in SAT/ACT and other standardized test preparation.

For the past seven years I have devoted myself solely to private tutoring and I must say I am one of those lucky few people who can truly say "I love my job"!!
I look forward to hearing from you and to helping you or your child to achieve success!
